“An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away” is a widely used proverb that implies that a daily consumption of apple can maintain health and wellness, thus, making the doctor’s interventions unnecessary. Well, this adage could be true for medical perspective but in education, a daily dose of Apple seems more engaging for teachers that keeps them more adept at the teaching and learning process.

Apple Inc., an American multinational technology company, has been doing a tremendous job in equipping educational sectors with the necessary technology and innovation to further teaching and learning. Apple stores around the world provide hands-on training sessions for both students and educators.

Students can either create amazing projects or present their works they already made. Educators can also have a one-of-a-kind experience by exploring how to utilize Apple tools and resources and create projects that can be applied in class.
This year, the Manila Xiamen International School students were able to partake in this innovative solution to bring Apple technology to every student. As part of their Design class, the students went to Apple Xiamen Lifestyle Center at SM Xiamen. They were able to experience coding and basic programming using SpheroEdu. The students showed enthusiasm and great interest to learn to code beyond the classroom setting.

At the start of the session, every students were given an Apple shirt and the session usually takes an hour to 90 minutes. A certificate of completion was also given to the participants and some lucky students who joined the session during the Hour of Code week had a free Apple USB.

Thank you to Apple for doing a wonderful work in improving education through technology integration. Rest assured that we, educators, will further our knowledge, skills, and competencies to develop 21st-century learners the 21st-century way.
